Final of the German Team Championships 2023/24

In the final of the German Team Championships in wrestling 2023/24 the Bundesliga clubs SV Wacker Burghausen and SC Siegfried Kleinostheim faced each other.

In the semi-finals, the favored former champions SV Wacker Burghausen defeated KSC Germania Hösbach 29:24 after the first and second round. SC Siegfried Kleinostheim had to deal with KSV Köllerbach. Here the final result was clearer from the Kleinostheim team’s point of view with 35:22.

The „Warriors“ SC Kleinostheim are thus challenging the series champions Burghausen. For Kleinostheim, reaching the final is the biggest success in the club’s history to date. The club celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2024. After 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022, this is the fifth time the Burghausen team has reached the final of the German Team Championships. The Bavarians have also won the title in all of the finals they have wrestled in so far.

The fight of the evening was between the current world champion Iszmail Muszukajev from SV Wacker Burghausen and Rasul Shapiev from SC Siegfried Kleinostheim. Shapiev is unbeaten in all eleven of his fights this season and is the only one to have beaten Muszukajev.

Vitalis Lazovski from SV Wacker Burghausen fought outstandingly against Deniz Menekse from SC Siegfried Kleinostheim and won by technical superiority after several suplexes. Lazovski was named fighter of the evening. The encounter between the current U23 world champion, Alexandrin Gutu, and the U23 world champion of 2021, Idris Ibaev, was also exciting, with the happier ending for Burghausen’s Ibaev. Also worth mentioning was the performance of Rasul Shapiev from Kleinostheim, who intimidated his opponent Rasul Altemirov with technical counter-attacks.
